Bidjit Live Broadcast – April 1, 2009…

Posted by News Writer on March 31, 2009

tvstudioBidjit’s Premiere (worldwide) Broadcast Event is scheduled for April 1st beginning at 11:30 A.M. (Eastern Time). This event will be broadcast live from Bidjit’s Tampa, Florida based studio.

The state-of-art-studio will simulcast this event through both the homepage of Bidjit.com and via Proxibid.com. The broadcast will begin promptly at 11:30 A.M. and continue for approximately seven hours with limited intermissions.

What to expect from Bidjit on April 1st? This will not be a run-of-the-mill live auction broadcast. The broadcast will include a unique mix of product offerings and monologue with a dash of humor. The premiere broadcast will take static (and live auctions) to the next level by offering interaction between Bidjit hosts and its worldwide audience. Bidders will have the opportunity to bid on product offerings while communicating through their Proxibid Instant Messenger with Bidjit hosts. In other words, this event will offer “pure excitement” and introduce a world of selling and buying opportunities offered through both Bidjit.com and Proxibid.

Bidjit’s technology has advanced to the stage of offering its users the option to send their Bidjit listing directly into Live Auctions! In fact, Bidjit.com is the ONLY auction site, which offers three ways to sell merchandise and boasts a full search core with tens of thousands of categories and sub-categories. Bidjit offers static auctions, live auctions and broadcast auction events.

Bidjit Live Auctions Launched!

Posted by News Writer on January 14, 2009

What’s a Live Virtual Auction? It’s a fun and exciting way to sell merchandise of all kinds. You can sell jewelry, coins, toys, collectibles, furniture and much more! How are Bidjit Live Auctions different from those offered by other live auction sites? First, we forbid the items to be bid up by the house. In other words, the only bidders allowed to place bids are Internet bidders. The bid increments are set at just $1.00.

Those who offer their merchandise (through our live auctions) must set the “ask price” of their item based upon what they’re willing to accept for that item. If just one bidder places a pre-bid, the item is considered sold unless the item opens and Internet bidders cast their bids in $1.00 increments - until the item is won. Again, at NO time does the house bid up any item up for auction.

Bidders can place pre-bids. A pre-bid is a bid, which may be placed on an auction lot, up and until that item opens up for auction. In some cases, the pre-bid may be deemed the winning bid if no other bidders place bids after the item opens.

While other live auction houses are charging absurd amounts of money to run live auctions, Bidjit Live Auctions (through its association with Proxibid) is setting the standard in offering AFFORDABLE No-Nonsense solutions for those who seek to offer their items, through a live auction venue, without paying high fees. In some cases, a few live auction providers will charge sellers if an item does NOT sell or, charge high fees (upwards to 25%) if the item does sell. This is a no-win option for sellers and an OVERALL win for these Live Auction providers.

More than a few of these live auction providers charge sellers fees based upon a tiered fee scheme. If you want to be included in a newsletter, you may have to go up the ladder (in fees) to access qualified buyers. However, those who have been in this business (for more than a few years) have access to qualified buyers through email lists, which were compiled via other live auction venues.

The live auction business should be a business model based upon equality. It should not be all about how much money the live auction seller can gouge out of the seller in ancillary fees.

Bidjit Live Auctions work differently. First, we WANT our sellers to be successful in selling their merchandise through our live auctions. Second, we won’t gouge our sellers with tiered fee schemes and third, our assets are at our sellers disposal. Bidjit has an active member base and a qualified mailing list plus, an established audience. Bidjit is the ONLY live auction company with a TRUE listing core.

When exploring other live auction venues, you may have notice that ALL of them display ONLY a catalog. These providers were NOT forward thinkers and thought that having a core (listings results pages within an actual auction site) had ZERO value. They were wrong. In fact, some of these sites do not even allow potential bidders to view a live auction in progress unless they complete the registration process – another absurd notion. Potential buyers may have never attended a live virtual auction and as such, Bidjit allows ALL potential buyers to view auctions in progress in order to become familiar with the process.

Bidjit offers it users the option to place unlimited listings for free. There are NO fees (with the exception of upgraded listings fees) unless an item is sold. Sellers can upgrade their listing to featured status for as little as $2.00 per listing and add bolding and/or better placement upgrades for $0.50 per listing.

Those wishing to offer their merchandise within our live auctions may do so for $1.00 per listing. If the item sells, Bidjit is compensated via the Bueyer’s Premium paid for by the buyer. There are NO Final Transaction Fees paid for by the seller when offering merchandise through our Live Auction venue.

We look forward to offering those in love with selling through on-line auctions the abundant opportunities offered through Bidjit. Learn more about Bidjit Live Auctions by Clicking Here!

Competitor Ads in Auction Seller Listings…

Posted by News Writer on November 21, 2008

adsIf you’re en eBay seller, you are more than likely having your ups and downs. If you’re an OLA seller, you might be enjoying sporadic sales, however, not quite what you had expected for this time of year.

While many can point to the economy as the reason for the decline in auction sales, this is NOT necessarily the case. Let’s have a show of hands. How many auction sellers start their auctions off at just $1.00 with no reserve? How many open their auctions at $5.00 with no reserve? See the point? It’s not the economy affecting auction sales, as much as the constant changes the larger auction sites have instituted in order to quash auction sales in favor of a Buy Now environment. What is also hurting sales are competitive ads appearing within auction listings.

When auction sellers list their items and then have to compete with ads at the top or bottom of their listings, which send traffic to their competitor, it can be a recipe for disaster. I have always thought that if an auction site wishes to use my listings space (space I pay for) to rotate ads, then I should be able to decide if I want those ads on my listing page and/or have the option to restrict certain url’s and/or enjoy a share of the revenues generated from ads appearing within (or even near) my auction listings.

On Bidjit, we allow non-auction related banner ads to rotate within our listing pages, however, we have a standing policy, which prohibits ads from finding their way into seller listings or, on landing pages for check-out. We consider auction seller listing space as ”sacred” ground.

However, if a Bidjit user wishes to add a banner to their listings, which links directly to their off-Bidjit store or to another retail site, so be it! We believe that if you took the time to put up a listing, the space is yours to do with as you please. Just keep it clean:-)

The Live Auction Advantage…

Posted by News Writer on November 19, 2008

auctionBidjit, now offers regular auction sellers, the advantage of placing their merchandise within its Live Auction format. Whether you have one item (or a hundred+ items) to sell, you can list those items in Bidjit’s regular static auctions and also add those items to Bidjit’s Live Auction events with NO upfront fees! While other online auction sites may charge a listing fee (in addition to other fees) to list items within their Live Auctions, Bidjit charges nothing to list seller items within its Live Auction format. In fact, if the item does NOT sell during a Live Auction event, the seller pays ZERO in fees. If the item sells, Bidjit is paid 10% of the selling price plus, it’s nominal Final Transaction Fee.

In addition to sellers listing their items within our Live Auctions, sellers may also list that very same item within Bidjit’s regular core listings, at NO charge. This offer is a double NO RISK way of selling merchandise within multiple venues. The only applicable fees for ALL sellers is if they enhance their listings - for a nickel or a dime - by featuring their items within Bidjit.

The Process to Sell on Bidjit Live…

Once your Bidjit account is active, list an item for sale. Remember, if you do not enhance your listings with options (such as bolding or featuring your item – for a nickel or a dime), there is NO charge for listing the item if the item does NOT sell.

As in the case of our Thanksgiving Day Live Auction, you could list an item up for auction (or sale) on Bidjit up to 24 hours before our Live Auction goes live (if you list an item within our Live Auctions, it must end within 24 hours of a Live Auction commencing - to ensure it does NOT get sold twice).

Once you list your item within Bidjit, you can then send an email to Bidjit at:

CustomerSupport@SplitSecondAuctions.com

Remember to include your Bidjit username and a list of the item(s) numbers you wish place within Bidjit’s Live Auction. It’s that easy, we do all of the work of pulling your listing(s) from our database and listing them within our Live Auction. Your reserve will be your starting price (the price you are willing to accept from a potential bidder).

Each Live Auction is limited to 650 pieces and if a Live Auction event has reached its quota of listings, Bidjit will place your items within the next available live auction. Bidjit Live Auctions are “general” in nature and can include a mix of jewelry, coins, art, antiques, militaria and books. We do NOT accept items for Live Auctions such as electronics, nutritional supplements or clothing (we do accept vintage clothing). In other words, if the item is not deemed appropriate by Bidjit, you will receive a notice from Bidjit informing you that your item(s) do NOT fall into an acceptable category of selling within its Live Auction format.

If your item(s) sells during a Live Auction event. You will be required to pay a 10% commission (and Bidjit’s nominal Final Transaction Fee) prior to receiving buyer contact information. All Bidjit Live Auction buyers register for a Live Auction with a valid credit card. Bidjit does NOT refund seller fees for any reason whatsoever. Buyer/seller disputes must be settled between the buyer and seller. Bidjit does NOT settle buyer/seller disputes.

What’s on the horizon?

Bidjit’s tech team is now working on integrating it’s Live Auction format within its listing process. In the very near future, Bidjit sellers will be able to add their item(s) to a Bidjit Live Auction event by simply ticking off a button when listing an item. We expect the updates to our system to be completed within the next four weeks.

We thank those users who have listed merchandise within our Thanksgiving Auction. We still room left for some more interesting items, so, don’t be shy, contact Bidjit today and we’ll list your items within our next Live Auction event.
